We can still enjoy the end of summer on one of Barcelona’s most spectacular terraces or at Spain’s first vegan spa, all brought to life by interior designer Raquel Sogrob.

Holidays are for making the most of them, taking care of yourself, letting go… And when they end, with the return to routine, everything seems to turn grey and dull. But that can be avoided if, when you’re in Barcelona, you visit Spain’s first vegan spa or treat yourself to a creative cocktail on the spectacular terrace of the Yurbban Passage Hotel & Spa, with some of the best views of the city.
This hotel has revolutionised what, until now, was the classic hotel concept through its attention, care and, of course, design. It begins with its location in a building that houses a piece of living history, extending through the Passatge de les Manufactures, a beautiful corner of the city that, from the Middle Ages until the 19th century, was home to textile businesses, including the hotel building itself, which was a warehouse in 1878. The passageway has changed and is now a charming corner that brings art and gastronomy together. To showcase its past and present history, the establishment commissioned multidisciplinary artist Antoni Yranzo to create the installation Petjades (Footprints).
High-speed Wi-Fi and computers available to guests come together in a space that has also been designed to be as sustainable as possible; this is why it has a class A energy-efficiency rating and cares for the environment in every corner. One of the most surprising details? The wardrobe, where the hangers are biodegradable.
Decoration plays a leading role in this hotel, where objects allow guests to experience the city from their own room thanks to the work of interior designer Raquel Sogorb, who opted for understated interiors with noble materials (oak, walnut, linen…) that are 100% natural. This can be appreciated throughout the hotel and especially in its 60 rooms, divided into categories: Standard, Terrace and Premium.
But design is not only evident in the rooms or the decoration. The refurbishment of the Passatge de les Manufactures had a clear goal: to turn it into a place where both art and gastronomy could come together. The hotel continues this philosophy, displaying paintings by different artists from Galería Senda, such as Jaume Plensa or Yago Hortal. In addition, don’t miss its website, where you can see several productions by filmmaker Beatriz Janer, presenting the work of artists such as Diego Sampere, a design artist who works with traditional techniques involving a mixture of sand and water; Antonio Yranzo, a multidisciplinary artist and author of the installation Petjades (Footprints), exhibited in the Passatge de les Manufactures; or Sonia Subirós, who has revived the technique of engraving…
